SUMMARY TESTS

THE PHYSICS SUPERMARKET


Each summary test consists of about 12 of the ideas contained in the topic summary sheet, but in incomplete form. Students complete the ideas. If the summary test is given on the same day as the traditional test, it will provide the teacher and the student with feedback about whether the student knows the ideas or not and whether the student is correctly applying the ideas.

Experience shows that students who achieve A standard or higher, can score at 10 or higher out of 12, on the summary test. A score of 6 or 7 out of 12 usually means a less than satisfactory grade on the traditional test. This is direct evidence to support what students are told over and over - "Don't expect to pass if you don't know your stuff!"

The files are Word documents that you can edit to suit your personal needs, before being printed, photocopied and given to your students. Two page sizes are available A4 (210 x 297 mm) or Letter (8 1/2 x 11 in).
